At Elite Women’s Health, delivering convenient and comprehensive women’s care is important. To ensure that we are providing exceptional care, we offer in office gynecologic ultrasound.
Gynecologic ultrasound allows us to evaluate the uterus, endometrium (lining of the uterus), cervix and ovaries. These images are utilized to determine the cause of abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, pain with sex, infertility, or IUD placement.
To obtain the best possible pictures of the pelvic organs, our sonographer will use both transabdominal and transvaginal approaches.
A transabdominal ultrasound refers to a scan of pelvic organs using an external approach. The sonographer will use a small handheld device called a transducer and pass it back and forth over the lower abdomen.
A transvaginal ultrasound refers to a internal ultrasound. A narrow probe is placed in the vagina to capture detailed pictures of the female pelvic organs.
After your ultrasound is performed, an appointment will be scheduled for you to meet with Dr. Lee to review the images. She will discuss the ultrasound findings and partner with you to review treatment options.
